I am doing my project on nineteenth century music. Music has a huge impact on my life. Whether it’s doing musicals, being part of the chorus, or just listening to my ipod, music is alway present one way or an other during my day. I think it would be really cool and interesting to learn in more detail and depth about other people from the nineteenth century that share that passion. Learning about all the different instruments that were invented during the time also interests me a lot. Since the topic relates so closely to my life, I feel like it will make this project easier to do and more enjoyable in the long run. I personally believe I will get more out of it if I research something I am truly interested in.
For the time being my topic is still pretty broad, but I feel as if after a few days of researching the topic I will very quickly and easily be able to narrow it down to something more specific like a certain genre of music at the time or different types of common instruments of the time. I hope that in the end I will be able to take a lot away from this project and be able to appreciate a broader spectrum of music from the past. I usually just write all classical music off before I actually give it a chance and I would like to break that habit and become more cultured. This is a perfect opportunity to do so.
